Washington DC

We had an exciting day finding our way into the city centre of Washington DC using metro loop buses and working out the Metro train system it really is a great way to see everything using the local transport. Once in the city we headed to Arlington Cemetery, what a magnificent place didn't wander to far because of the heat but checked out the JFK and Jackies burial place and eternal flame.  Then quite a pleasant walk to the Lincoln Memorial and a hike up the steps with heaps of other tourists.
Feeling the heat we discovered a cheap ($1) bus ride that circles around the city and headed to the recommended National Air and Space Museum.  Wow was that a great place lots of interactive displays and despite the huge number of people there was room to move, and surprisingly interesting.
By the time we had wandered all over the museum we where looking for home so off to the closest metro station find the Franconia train and all sorted we are getting this transport thing DOWN!!!
Rob once again doing a great job driving we find supermarkets to get tea and head back to the airbnb for cooling ales and cocktails. With lots of wind from the boys.
