Richmond isn't that far from DC but being adventurists we turned off at Fredricksburg to follow the Rappahannock river to Chesapeake Bay and headed to the coast so we could do the Chesapeake tunnel bridge some 26 miles long over and under water. Went over and came back! Had lunch at Virginia beach (Baja Chicken wrap, while Paul is discovering 7/11s hot dogs with chilli and cheese) Into Richmond with a huge thunder storm.
Monday and into Richmond proper only a smaller place (about the size of Adelaide it looks) investigated the true history of the Confederacy and the Union; an amazing tour of the White House where Jefferson Davis the confederate President resided.
