Left Augusta Georgia early and headed to Savannah, it is still hot and sticky it never seems to let up even at night but we have become good at finding air conditioned spots and travelling in the car is really comfortable. We have fun hunting for servos that sell Paul and Helens favourite ice coffee but it gets a bit frustrating when they have run out so this morning we had caramel mocchiato with hazelnut coffee mate!!!! and chocolate twinkies (sponge fingers with cream), OMG a bit sweet but quite delicious, we are already planning our diet for home but it can wait till then.
Anyway we made it to Savannah and headed to the river to find one of the local high school bands and cheer squad or dance troop performing, it was a practice session for them before they go back to school on Monday they were absolutely fantastic and everyone was jiving along with them.
We decided to investigate a cooler area and headed out of town to Tybee island and being the last weekend of the summer break it was really crowded and everyone was on the beach, I have finally paddled in the Atlantic ocean but the water was not very inviting (a bit dirty, probably because of the river) so swimming was off the agenda.
Lunch and a bit of a drive through Savannah again it is a beautiful city big shady trees full of 'Grand fathers beard' and back to the highway and made it into Jacksonville, there is water everywhere so we will stay in the AC and the insect repellent is out and ready to use. Till tomorrow with Jacksonville adventures.
