Back into the city today drive to the station and hop on the train again into capitol south station and find our way to Capitol Hill with its amazing domed building took a free tour with lots of other people. The security is intense and we had to quickly eat our lunch and drink water before again heading through the scanner Helen and I giggle about the alarms when they pick up my knee and her hip. It is a beautiful building with heaps of history and we learnt a lot about American politics.
Then off to the white house we weren't allowed in as Aussies need to get approval which will take three months so we sat on Don's lawn and had ice creams.
Next we headed for the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History (more lines and more security) a fantastic adventure Paul and I checked out the Hope diamond, but a full day is needed to get around the entire place and our feet and legs where tiring so we headed home and enjoyed New York pizza, beer and Vodka.
