We travelled from Vestal through the Poconos to get to Philli arriving at Lansdowne to a great AirBNB greeted by Sarah who gave us a great insight into the history, passion and love for Philadelphia; the place of many firsts from the signing of the declaration of independence to the Rocky Balboa.
Philli gave us a great tour of the city, Rodin's Museum, Ben Franklin's museum, museum of the Arts where Rocky made his famous run up the steps, as did I and the many thousands of others on the day with the negro saxophone basker playing the theme song to Rocky!! his lips must be sore. Philli is steeped in the firsts of the American history and everyone you talk to seems to know what happened. Ask them about Australia!!!!mmm that's near London was one comment, and that was a bus driver.
We enjoyed a philli lunch (big) and famous cheese steak( ribeye, shredded with cheese and onion on a roll) for tea. We Helen) by chance found a new barman Kyle who introduced us to Yingling Beer, oldest brewery in Boston. What a great guy.
Still very hot and high humidity; by 11.00am your clothes are starting to stick!
