Tallahassee Florida

Since Crystal river we went back across the Florida peninsula to St Augustine an historical beach side area near Jacksonville.  Helen and Rob headed into the old Spanish fort and investigated all the history of the place while Paul and I spent the morning on the beach. It was fascinating watching the thunder clouds build up and we sat on the beach when the rain hit we weren't a bit cold and kept on swimming till it cleared and it was once again steamy hot.  Off to lunch at Mango Mangos bar and grill for shrimp tacos and beer and a relaxing afternoon around the pool at the Airbnb.  Had tea at the beachcomber restaurant in the sandhills of St Augustine beach (fish reuben sandwiches yum).
Friday morning heading for Tallahassee the capital of Florida but a relatively small town with heaps more history as we are staying in the historical area.  Helen and I investigated the historical houses this morning we only had to walk around a few blocks looking very touristy with maps and descriptions of houses in our hands luckily it was early and not too many people saw us but those that did thought it was great that we were interested. The boys headed for the golf course only a block away and us girls found the air conditioned Museum of Florida History a really impressive display of mans history in the area.  Then headed a couple of blocks away to find The Knott House museum a house left in its original condition since the 1920s the southeners are very proud of their past despite some rugged times.  A walk back home in the heat wasn't to bad because of the magnificent shade trees with Spanish moss hanging off of them through cascade park to check out Edisons restaurant where we went
