Started to take the coast road to Mobile Alabama it was a great road right on the Gulf of Mexico stopped off to find some guys fishing catching really good sized red fish from a new jetty. The small board walk and two jetties were built from money given to the local counties from BP following the huge oil spill a couple of years ago. Its great to see some community land made available for everyone to use rather than all the beachside property privately owned as it has been, although there is still a lot of real estate that is not accessible to the general public.
We made our way to Panama City a huge city with high rise apartments like the Gold coast on steroids, with time running out we found the highway and a tropical downpour and made our way through cotton fields, soy bean and peanut crops. Our Airbnb was a cabin in the middle of a Christmas tree farm it was quite delightful, but we didn't see any bears.
Next day Monday was a Labour day holiday and we still managed shopping at the outlet shops and then headed into Mobile to checkout the battleship the USS Alabama it was quite impressive but we had the follow the tour numbers or we would have become quite lost Paul kept on going off the trail and had to be pulled back into line. We also checked out the aircraft museum and the submarine.
Then off to New Orleans in the holiday traffic.
