Monday Houston Tuesday Galvaston

I am not panicking!!??!! Paul refuses to panic so I won't either!! hurricane Florence is going to cross the coast as we are going back to New York so we can head home I am sure the American airlines will keep us safe.
Anyway Monday in Houston into downtown history Sam Houston park and Buffalo Bayou, traffic not bad for Monday Morning and no crowds OK we had read about the tunnels, a security lady at the park says go see the tunnels OK down we go underground a homeless guy chats to us, oh  where are we going?  So we find ourselves in these amazing corridors of well lit sparkling clean mazes underground and here are; all the people all the office workers go down here from the high rise buildings above to get LUNCH basically there is a plethora of food courts and other retail shops all confined to 6 miles of tunnels under downtown Houston, what an experience.  At least we didn't get wet as the skies opened up again so we headed home till the rain  stopped.
Helen and I headed for the huge cemetery when the rain settled and explored some more history with some good views of the city.
Tea at Saltgrass Texas grill, shrimp and ribs, and Texas T bones with Texas iced tea huge drink topped with tequila.
Tuesday off to Galveston, via outlet shops to buy some scrubs, nurses wear them all over USA why can't we in Aust

.  Galveston is actually on an island with rather a long beach. On investigating the harbour we discovered the oil rigs that they send out to the Gulf of Mexico and found a museum (again) so had a good tour around and old rig it was quite interesting. OK that's all I have to say about that, another bourbon so I stop worrying about Florence and try to pack the bags and stay underweight.  Over to Paul so he can do a wonderful job with the photos.
